A Cycling & Diabetes blog without any cycling

I have begun to understand why cycling is more popular in France, Spain & Italy. It’s warmer there, obviously, but also for more of the year you can ride your bike.

Which I have not been able to do, for another week!

I reckon someone has been playing about with the Gulf Stream. I’m sure it used to come past here about this time every year. And keep the bloody cold away. Well, I think it’s gone AWOL this year….

If you see it, will you tell it to get back here, and do it’s bloody job. Make Englands winters wet and mild… so I can go for a bike ride.

  1. Robin Crampton Robin Crampton says:

I too am missing the Gulf Stream. This is two years on the trot now, it’s getting worrying. I have now managed two days on the bike consecutivly. Yesterday was the first ride in ten days, since the Monday when it was -14c. I never thought I would say it but bring back the wet and warm.

  2. I don’t know if it’s based in science or not, but I can believe that global warming has caused the Gulf Stream to move. Just our luck that global warming causes Britain to get colder!!!
